leezoo: LT when I knew him in the very late 1970s; was posted with the Brits on HMS Porpoise. We talked about postings to Faslane and Holy Loch, but they never happened. Would like to know what happened since that lifetime ago.

Grandfather was a sailor in WWI, dad was Army Air Corps in WWII. Me, I'm one of the few of my generation who managed to serve, and mine was all peacetime service.
I joined the Navy in 1978 from NYC, went to Newport, RI for Officer Candidate School, was posted to NavFac Argentia, then Gtmo, and ended my active duty at was then CNET in Pensacola. As a reservist I was with MSC and then NCSO units. Rejoined the civilian world in 1993 with 11 good years behind me.
The man who brought me to this site is my dad's cousin, Charlie.
